My Lab's research involves very detailed and exact micro dissection in the early chick embryo. Oban BioScissors give us the precision and control we need for this kind of work - I recommend them highly.

These precise, high quality BioScissors are indispensable to my micro dissection of embryonic tissues. Easy to use when cutting even the smallest piece of tissue. The BioScissors continue to do their job well after years of use.

The Oban BioScissor is a great tool for micro surgery. The cuts it makes are clean, without the crushed edges you get from sharpened needles. The finish means that you do not get tissue stuck on your blade, interfering with your dissections. It is probably essential for any lab that does delicate surgeries.

I have been using the Oban BioScissors for over 10 years now and ordered my 4th pair from Oban Precision Instruments recently. If you haven't used these before and do fine dissections on fresh or fixed tissue, these scissors are for you. They are superbly crafted out of titanium, so they retain their sharpness for years and do not rust. The real reason to love them however is that they work both as forceps and a pair of scissors. These scissors allow you to hold your tissue sample and cut without changing instruments. My laboratory uses them to hand cut cross-sections in a pinch and to prepare wholemounts. We can hand-cut uniform sections as thin as 100 µm with these scissors, so they are also ideal for preparing explants for culture. I have also had one pair of scissors refurbished by Oban Precision Instruments and was very pleased with the results and the service. I would recommend these to anyone doing difficult tissue dissections and sample preparations.
